Anytime you do something new it’s extremely beneficial to have help from someone who’s “been there, done that”. I’m new to affiliate marketing so I really appreciate the information I’ve been getting from the blogs of successful affiliates. One of these sites is ZacJohnson.com, run by none other than by Zac Johnson himself, surprise, surprise.
Goodbye Auction Ads
I first ran across ZacJohnson.com several months ago and have had the site in my feedreader ever since. It first caught my eye when I was running AuctionAds on one of my sites with minimal success. It was nice to see I wasn’t the only one dissatisfied with AuctionAds.
Affiliate Network Reviews
As a new affiliate, one of the questions I’ve been pondering is what affiliate networks are the best to work with. Zac has a series of affiliate network reviews that were helpful to me and convinced me to sign-up for Never Blue Ads not too long ago.
Pay Per Click Advertising
Another aspect of affiliate marketing I’m new to is using pay per click to drive customers to my website. Zach began working seriously with PPC after the last Affiliate Summit and has shared AdWords tips on his site. Recently he put out the Super Affiliate’s Guide to PPC Marketing and shared some follow up tips walking through an adwords campaign for an affiliate product.
Niche Marketing
One part of starting out as an affiliate is not knowing what market to tackle first. I got something out of a niche marketing post on Zac’s site and actually used some of it when doing some target market research of my own.
Affiliate Summit
Zac is actually giving away a free pass to the next Affiliate Summit, a pretty generous gift for newbies like me. I wrote about why I’m going to attend the next Affiliate Summit, it would be wicked if my registration fees were paid.
It’s obvious that Zac thinks highly of the value that conferences like these offer. He offered daily recaps of the last conference he attended. He started off with his accommodations and some of the other affiliates and other online money makers he met the first day.
Something else I’ve gleaned from Zac’s site is that not only do you learn a lot at affiliate marketing conferences but you have a great time as well. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and Zach does a good job of documenting the event with pics.
Zach was a speaker at the conference, talking about “Word of Mouth Marketing” and even turned down offers for consulting work, instead referring them to the free content on his blog! On last thing to mention about Affiliate Summit is that you can actually watch videos of some of the presentations if you weren’t able to attend. I didn’t know this was available until Zac mentioned the ASE videos on his site.
Zac is a Nice Guy
After listening to Zac’s interview on the Shoemoney show, he sounds pretty level-headed and reasonable. When I noticed he took the time to leave comments on this new site I figured he was a nice guy : ) I’d like to thank Zac for sharing his experiences with rookies like me and I’d also like to thank him in advance for paying my registration to Affiliate Summit West 08!
